Generally people who receive coaching want to improve something about their lives: work, family, key relationships, a change of job, independence – there are all sorts of reasons.
When you want to go somewhere, if you are unclear about where you are right now, then you won’t know where you are heading. So…
If you know where you are now (your current situation), you can think about where you want to get to.
You bring about change by acting it out, not just by learning or recognition.
Don’t expect the process of making this change to be smooth or tidy. Above all, doing it alone is, from personal experience, very difficult. The coach makes no value judgements; he looks at the client as “someone with potential”. He supports him in his progress with all the means at his disposal. The important point to bear in mind is this: what sort of situations give you a sense of fulfilment, and what do you value most on those occasions? What kind of person are you? What kind of person are you trying to become?
We are all curious to know more about this, aren’t we?
There are many approaches to coaching, but what Co-Active coaching offers is something different. It is not just about seeing a problem as something to be resolved: there can be positive aspects as well, related to our lives, to do with our values, preconceptions, feelings and the thoughts that hold us back. The coach is a key part of the client’s life, supporting him in the challenges facing him and his inner self.
